Kate is now seven years old - time needs to slow down! She is in First Grade at Roberts Elementary School and is loving it! She adores her teacher, Mrs. Burnette and has excelled in First Grade. She has become very competitive with reading and want to reach her Accelerated Reading (AR) goal as quickly as possible each nine weeks. I am so proud at how hard she works at school.

Kate is still a very picky eater. She loves to eat chocolate chip muffins every morning for breakfast or occasionally mini pancakes. She is still obsessed with Chick-fil-a and is about to move up to getting adult sized meals. She has recently discovered "chicken hamburgers" and loves to get those (and even eats the pickles that come on them). Speaking of pickles. she loves those too! The other day at lunch she ate everyone's pickle spear, including her own!
Kate goes to bed at 7:30 but we allow her to read in bed for an hour or so. If it's a Saturday, she will sleep until 7 or 7:30 but on school mornings, she gets up at 6:30am. Kate is wearing size 7 clothes and quickly growing into size 8. She wears a size 13 shoe and is on her third pair of tennis shoes in a year! While she can be stubborn and sassy at times, Kate is very friendly, funny, smart, thoughtful, considerate, obedient, helpful, and sweet.
Kate still loves to play with Shopkins and has recently become interested in playing with Barbies. She also plays a lot with her dollhouse. Kate enjoys to color and has even started to write a few "books". She asks Daddy to fold and staple computer paper in half and will write lengthy stories, complete with chapters and illustrations! She loves to write cards for anyone on any holiday.
Her goal right now is to grow her hair long "like Rupunzel". I'm not sure how long I'm going to allow it to grow, but it's getting there. Kate loves to have her hair curled so we bought a package of sponge rollers recently. It's so easy to put them in while her hair is wet and let her sleep on them all night. She also loves to get manicures and pedicures. It's always a special time to go together and have our nails painted.
