Mini Family Reunion

Last weekend, my grandmother treated us all to a family trip to Destin to spend the weekend with my two cousins and their families.  This trip had been planned since Christmas so I had been looking forward to it for quite some time.  We drove over on Friday afternoon and the kids slept most of the way over which worked out great since they were rested and ready to play when we arrived.  Saturday was beautiful beach weather and Sunday was stormy so it was a great shopping day.  I could have stayed all week in Destin, but we headed back to reality on Monday morning.  I wasn't planning on leaving until Monday afternoon, but it was rainy again on the Monday and Sunday's storm knocked out the air conditioner in the building so we pack up early and went home.

Hanging out with Granddaddy while Mommy unpacked.
 At dinner.
From left to right: my cousin Kayla and her daughter Betty, Nanny and Noah (my cousin Tiffany's youngest) and my mom and Mason.
My cousin Tiffany (middle) holding Noah, with Caleb and Nanny.

We ate dinner at the Crab Trap and after she ate, Kate ran on the beach to play on the jungle gym and coat herself in sand.  There was literally sand covering every inch of her.  I put her in the shower when we got back to the hotel, but there was so much sand still left in her hair that there was sand all in the sheets the next morning. Yuck!

Saturday was the only beautiful day we had at the beach (unfortunately).  We spent the majority of the day at the beach and we loved every minute of it.  Tropical storm Andrea can come through a few days prior to our arrival so I was concerned their would be a lot of seaweed, but thankfully the water was clear!

First time in the sand.  He wasn't thrilled.

As soon as the water rushed up over him, he started crying...
 and then screaming.
 Sweet baby feet.

 Loving the beach.
 Handsome daddy.
Mom and Betty enjoying the shade.

Saturday night, we went to eat at The Back Porch and before leaving, we tried for a couple pictures in the big beach chair.

Before we headed back to the hotel, we went to the beach to try to accomplish the impossible - a group picture.  After several takes, we got a few that were worthy to share!

What would be a beach picture without one of Mason crying?!

Thank you Nanny for such a wonderful weekend.  It was great to spend some extra time together as a family and we have so many wonderful memories from this trip!  We love you!
