Last weekend, we went to SeaWorld to celebrate Audrey's 4th birthday! This was our first time taking Kate to a theme park and she loved it! We didn't tell her where we were going until we left that Friday night and we saved the biggest surprise for when we got to the park - Audrey was there! Poor Kate had been sick the weekend before with a horrible stomach bug and didn't get to go to Audrey's birthday party, but I was so glad she got over that before we were suppose to SeaWorld.
Since I had just started my new job, I wasn't comfortable asking off from work, so we planned to leave Friday night. My mom and dad came by and picked up Mason around 6 and Justin, Kate and I were on the road headed to Orlando by 7pm. We had an uneventful trip down and spent the night in Belleview, an exit right before the turnpike. Since it was spring break, all the hotels were booking up fast so I'm glad I made reservations several weeks in advance. Saturday morning we got up early and left the hotel at 7:30 so we could make it to the park by 9:00am. We weren't the first ones there, but we were able to park right at the entrance of SeaWorld. Kate was so excited to see Audrey and our fun filled day began. We opened the park at 9:00am and closed it down at 7:00pm.
Excited about going to SeaWorld the next morning!
Audrey and Kate were so surprised to see each other!
The birthday girl waiting to see Shamu. As soon as we got into the park, we saw a line forming to get pictures with Shamu. Kate was scared and refused to get her picture taken, even though Audrey tried to reassure her by saying over and over "He won't bite us Kate".
At the stingray touch tank. The girls just watched.
Watching the dolphins.
We started off the day going to all the shows. We went to the dolphin show first, which I had never seen before. There were dolphins, birds, a even princess (one of the trainers).
Next, we went straight to the Clyde and Seamore show, which is my favorite.
And last, we hustled as fast as we could to get to the Shamu show. We managed to get great seats right in front, but they were in the splash zone. It actually needs to renamed the soak zone. Thankfully, Justin and I were wearing quick dry shirts and Kate just loved getting soaked by Shamu. Poor Audrey burst into tears.
Kate LOVED Shamu.
The view from our seats, no zoom needed!
After lunch, we took the girls to Shamu's Harbor, a kid friendly mini park within SeaWorld. I never thought about Kate needing a bathing suit, but as soon as the girls saw the water area they wanted in on the fun. We stripped them down to their shorts and let them jump in.
After the water park, we rode other rides in Shamu's Harbor like the train, merry-go-round, teacups and Audrey even braved the roller coaster.
At the end of the day, the Reavis' treated us to "Dining with the Sharks", a wonderful restaurant in Sea World where we ate dinner next to the shark tanks!
The girls got a souvenir before we left (Kate picked out a polar bear and named her Snowball) and we walked out with the crowds of people at 7:00pm. Both girls burst into tears when it was time to go our separate ways, so sad!
Once we got to the hotel that night, Kate's head had barely hit the pillow before she was sound asleep - exhausted after such a fun filled day! We missed Mason that weekend but we know he had a great time at Gigi and Granddaddy's.
Thank you Mr. Raymond, Mrs. Tracy and Audrey for inviting us to SeaWorld! Hopefully we can do it again for Kate's birthday!
