Justin had the surgery to repair his shoulder on Tuesday. It has been a long week for all of us. The kids spent the night with my parents Monday night, stayed with Justin's parents for a couple hours Tuesday night, and then stayed again at my parent's house again on Wednesday night so I could tend to Justin.
On Tuesday, we got to the TOC Surgery Center around 10:45 since Justin's surgery was scheduled for 11:30am. Unfortunately, the procedure didn't start until 3:30 and we got home that evening around 6pm. It was a long day! Thankfully everything went smoothly and Dr. Jordan (the best in town according to several former patients) was able to repair the tears in Justin's shoulder instead of reconstructing the damage. He has a long recovery ahead of him (4-6 months) but we'll survive.
Resting up before surgery.
All bandaged up.
We took the dressings off Thursday night and poor Mason burst into tears. He was upset for several minutes crying "Dada boo boo". Justin has been in more pain yesterday and today than he was immediately after surgery but I think it'll get better from here. He has to keep the sling on for at least a month and then he'll start physical therapy after that. I'm sure this temporary discomfort will be worth it in the end when his shoulder is completely healed!
