Thursday, my dad celebrated his 62nd birthday and we all met for lunch to celebrate!
Tonight, we had Granddaddy's "birthday party" with the entire family - my parent's, Uncle Jordan, Aunt Katie, Camden and Nanny. We had everyone over to our house for hamburgers and chocolate peanut butter poke cake - yummy! Camden and Mason played outside for a little bit before dinner and loved playing on the slide and swinging. Kate decided to stay inside and help daddy cook and put together a puzzle with Gigi.
Swinging like a big boy - first time!
Reading books with Nanny.
After dinner, Granddaddy opened his presents. Here's a little background about this next series of pictures. On the way to church Wednesday night, we stopped by Bealls, looking for Granddaddy's FSU shirt. While we were there, Kate fell in love with a pink kitty with a zipper pouch. She asked very sweetly if we would buy it for her and we told her maybe for her birthday. Well...when she got to church that night she asked Gigi in her sweetest voice if she would buy her the pink kitty for her birthday because "it would make her so happy". Kate told Gigi it was "at the store, by church, with all the FSU stuff". Ha ha. Well, guess what Gigi went out and bought?! But, she wrapped it up and let Granddaddy open it with his other presents to see what Kate's reaction was...
I love this picture because it captures the moment so well...
She was devastated that Granddaddy got the exact pink kitty she wanted.
Until he decided to give it to her...
Sweet Granddaddy.
This was my dad's reaction when he opened his next gift - a gift certificate to get a pedicure. I'll be interested to see if he actually uses it. :) Apparently it's becoming more common these days for men to get pedicures but I don't think I'll ever talk Justin into getting one.
Granddaddy's new FSU shirt - with the original logo. It's sad to think these will soon be replaced with the revised logo (which I'm not a fan of).
Happy Birthday Granddaddy! We love you!

Hilarious!! I love the mean but funny trick y'all played on poor Kate! Her reaction made me want to laugh and cry all at the same time. And, I love your Dad's face when he opened the pedicure! Too funny!!
