Kate's First Field Trip

Today I went with Kate's class for her first field trip to Springhill Farms in Bainbridge, GA.  Everyone had a great time and Aunt Katie did a fantastic job organizing the event.  We were 45 minutes late arriving at the pumpkin farm but that was only because the buses were late arriving at Roberts.

As we boarded the bus, Kate insisted on sitting in the very first seat.

Not talking to mommy at some point during our hour long ride. I'm still not sure what she was upset about.

When we first got there, Ms. Hughes' class ate lunch (10:45!) under a covered pavilion before heading over to the corn pit and bounce houses to play.
 Kate and Eden:
Next up was the hay ride!

 They're off!
Next, the class went through the corn maze and that was the first time I had ever been in one.  It's a little concerning when you realize how tall the corn is and how easily you could get lost (or one of the 18 kindergarteners you are walking with).

The last event was a pumpkin chunkin demonstration.  Very neat!

Weeeee! We found out a pumpkin that is partially rotten will explode in the air.
Before leaving we attempted a group picture...

It was a great field trip and I'm so glad I was able to go with my girl!  Can't wait for the next one.

Mason is 3!

Our little man turned three years old on Monday!  We celebrated with family at dinner at Red Elephant (where else?!) and were joined by all our in-town family.  We had a great night and a fun time celebrating with the birthday boy.

On Monday morning, I heard Mason singing "Happy Birthday...to me!" a couple times before we woke Kate up and went in his room to sing.  He grinned and was excited about opening presents.  Kate had picked out a polar bear and a puppy/dog house toy at Target and Daddy and I bought him the Paw Patroller (the semi that all the characters of the Paw Patrol use to transport their vehicles).  He kept shouting "Paw Patroller" in his deep voice the entire time he was playing with it.
 Opening gifts with Kate's "help".
 No peeking Mason!
His reaction when he saw the Paw Patroller.

Mason was so upset when I told him it was time to leave for school that morning.  I picked him up early that afternoon thinking we would go to the park and have some fun but he asked to go home and play with the Paw Patroller.  The birthday boy gets what the birthday boy wants and that's just what we did!
Cool dude riding the new motorcycle game at Red Elephant.

Happy birthday handsome boy!  We love you Mason!

Uncle Jordan's 30th Birthday!

It has been a birthday packed weekend (and it's not over yet)! Tonight we celebrated Uncle Jordan's 30th birthday with a surprise party!  It ended up being a small family celebration due to several friends of his friends not being able to make it at the last minute, but we still had a great time.  It was a delicious chili dinner, perfect for the slight chill in the air.  It's always fun at the Olk's house and tonight was no exception.

 The birthday boy arrived!

The kids enjoyed playing with all of Camden's toys and they also had fun helping Uncle Jordan open his gifts.  At one point, Camden grabbed one of the presents and ran and threw it in the pool.  Luckily it was a wrapped gift box so Uncle Justin was able to scoop it up out of the pool before the inside got wet.  Crazy boy!  Apparently Camden likes to throw everything in the pool.
The event of the night was be pulled around the pool in the wagon and/or bicycle.  I kept hearing Camden yell "faster Aunt Becca, faster!" I got a quick workout before I took down some cookie cake (so delicious!).
Helping his daddy blow out the candles.

Reading one of Uncle Jordan's gifts - a book about Diggers (tractors).
Happy 30th Birthday Uncle Jordan!  We love you!

Mason's 3rd Birthday Party!

This morning we celebrated Mason's 3rd birthday, Paw Patrol Style.  It was a little hectic trying to get ready for a 9:30am party so I didn't get all the pictures of the decorations like I had hoped, but I guess decorations are the least important.  I forgot that several friends would go out of town because of Friday being a Teacher Planning Day but despite that, we had a lot of fun with all the friends that were able to come! Since the football started at noon, I tried to have the party early enough so everyone could get back home to watch the game.

The invitation:
Mason asked to rent a bounce house and have the party at our house this year so that's just what we did.

Testing out the bounce house...
Mason's facial expression makes me laugh:

 Sweet cousins.
I bought the digital files on Etsy and put together his birthday banner.

A few family pictures...

And one of the cake:
A friend at work made it...I think it turned out cute!
It's amazing how difficult the guys can be when I ask to take their picture.  One day they'll look back at this and think how good (and young) they look.  Haha.
And one of us mommas since we are rarely in the pictures.

My other big priority at parties is to take pictures of all our guests.  I was successful this year to get a picture of every one - even little Colton!
 Colton Covan.
 Colton, Mason and Landon.

 Camden, Sawyer and Mason.
The girls were playing in Kate's room and didn't put up much fuss when I asked to take their picture.  I love this one of the four girls (Peyton, Kendal, Kate and Audrey).
 Someone partied too hard...

Kaz and Mason.

Before our guests left, we quickly opened presents and sang Happy Birthday to Mason.

 Yay!

Happy, happy birthday to our big THREE year old!
We love you Mason!

Happy Father's Day!

I want to wish this special guy a Happy Father's Day!  One day Kate and Mason will realize how lucky they are to call him dad.  He coac...
