Our little girl has turned six years old! September 17th was a very busy day of celebrations but I wouldn't want it any other way. We all woke up early that morning so Kate could open her birthday presents from us.
She's really into anything crafty and "big-eyed" stuffed animals.
A birthday donut complete with a number six candle.
Singing Happy Birthday.
Her gifts from us. She also received an American Girl doll from Gigi and Granddaddy (complete with a ballerina outfit), a new Roberts shirt and crafts from Camden, a weaving loom kit and money for her savings account (wonderful!) from Nanny and a beading set from Mimi and Papa (she got that the night before her birthday since they weren't able to come to dinner).
I worked a couple hours that morning and left work early to take a cookie cake to Kate class for a school celebration. I was really looking forward to going since it would be my first time seeing all the friends in her class. I have heard about most of them, but until now I hadn't met them all.
Kate had requested this frog cookie cake several months prior.
Enjoying her treat.
I got a special treat by watching the class do their daily "Go Noodle" activity before dismissal. They pick a song on the smart board and dance along. Some of the kids really get into it - including you know who. She's front and center.
Before I left, Ms. Hughes and Ms. Daniel gathered all the kids together to take a picture. So glad they cooperated (well, most of them)!
That evening, we all met at Red Elephant for our annual birthday dinner. We were missing Mimi and Papa this year, who were out of town.
Love these three with all my heart!
When we arrived, Kate ran straight for the game room which is full of new games to play. After she spent $6 on the (frustrating) claw game, trying to grab a stuffed animal, she decided to open gifts...
And blow out the candles on her cupcake...
Enjoying his cupcake.
Not enjoying his.
I can't even remember what he was crying about. Poor Mason had a "terrible, horrible, no good, very, bad day" that day. He scraped his knees at school and could barely walk, bumped heads with a classmate, fell and got hit in the mouth on two separate occasions at dinner and then to top off the night, his balloon floated away.
Poor guy. We felt so bad for him. Despite all that, he managed to pull through for a couple pictures. That's my boy!
Happy Birthday to our beautiful six year old!
We love you SO much, Kate!!
