Birthday Weekend
Today is my 27th birthday (when I turn the big 3-0, Kate will be a big 0-3) and it has been a busy weekend. Friday night, Justin and I went to Carrabbas for dinner (my favorite!) where he gave me my birthday present - diamond earrings! He said it was a combined Christmas, birthday, and new baby present all in one.
Saturday morning Kate, mom, and I went to Bradley's Fun Day for some arts and crafts shopping and then back to my parent's house to watch the FSU game. Kate and I stayed there until Justin got back in town from hunting at the coast. Today we went to church, had a wonderful steak dinner at my parent's house, went home where all three of us took a nap, then Reavis family came over to hang out (Raymond, Tracy, and Miss Audrey).
This weekend was also full of firsts - first birthday as a mom and the first night Kate is sleeping in her crib downstairs. I'm interested to see how it goes.

2 Months Old
Today Kate is 2 months old - where has the time gone? We went to the Timberlane Play Group at the Killearn Park this morning and then she and I went to the mall for a little shopping (of coarse Kate is the only one that got anything). Each month we're taking her picture with the Koala bear her Aunt Natasha sent from Austraila.

Strolling on Saturday
2 Month Shots
Friday was Kate's 2 month appointment where she had to get her vaccinations. Justin and I talked about whether to give them all her to her or just pick some, but after talking with her docter, we decided to do all of them. Kate had a quick nap in the waiting room and once we got back in the room, we put her on the examining table and she just played and played until it was time for the shots. The nurse started with the Rotavirus vaccine (which is given orally) and Kate kept spitting out the doses. For the last dose, the nurse had Justin blow in her face to get her to swallow and she started screaming! Since she was already upset, the nurse quickly gave her the three shots in her thighs, and I don't think she really noticed. Once we left the doctor office Kate just slept the rest of the afternoon and had a great time with Mimi and Papa that night (Justin's parents) while Justin and I ran errands.

Bath Time Fun
One of Kate's favorite times of day is bathtime - which I usually try to do in the mornings. As soon as I lay her on the towel beside the sink she'll start smiling because she knows she getting in her tub! She's growing up so fast - this was the first morning I used her tub without the newborn sling.
7 weeks and Sleeping through the Night?
Saturday night Kate went to bed at 10:00 (her usual bedtime) and didn't wake up until 6:15am - a full 8 hours. For the past week or so, her routine has been to go to bed at 10pm and wake up around 4am for an early breakfast and go back down. Hoping for a repeat last night, she and I both went to bed at 10:15 and I didn't hear her "talking" until 7:30am! Yeah Kate!

Kate's First Halloween
Kate didn't dress up this Halloween - mainly because there weren't many costumes that would fit her. A couple Saturday's before Halloween we went to the pumpkin patch with Raymond, Tracy, and Audrey Reavis. On Halloween, the three of us went to my parents house to watch the FSU football game and help pass out candy.
Baby Bible Presentation and Great Grandparents Weekend
The weekend of October 24th was very busy for Justin and I. His grandparents came up from Naples to meet Ms. Kate and spend some time with us. That Sunday at church was the baby dedication/bible presentation which was very special since Kate's grandparents, uncle, and great grandparents were all able to be there. She wore the white gown that Mimi had given me at the church shower.
Life just gets better
Kate Elizabeth Evers was born on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 5:20 am. She weighed 7 lbs, 4 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. Mimi (Justin's mom) called her "perfection in a diaper" and I couldn't agree more. We took Kate home on Saturday, September 19th.
Where to start?
Justin and I met at church in 1996 when his family moved from Naples to Tallahassee. We both attended Lincoln High School, went our seperate ways for college, and didn't start dating until March of 2004. It's amazing to me how God's timing works in our lives. On October 14, 2006 we were married at Timberlane Church of Christ and almost three years later, our beautiful daughter, Kate, was born. I thank the Lord everyday for my wonderful family and how He has blessed my life.
