Kate had a big weekend which included being sick. Friday night, Mrs. Rachel came over for a visit to see Kate before she moves back to France to work on her Masters. We will miss you (again) Mrs. Rachel but we hope you have a great time!
Saturday, we met Mrs. Betsy for pictures and then Kate and I were invited over the Harbison's house to swim! It was so nice to hang out with Erin for a couple hours and of coarse Kate entertained everyone. We left the Harbison's in time for Kate to get her afternoon nap before Mailin, Jessica, Rebekah and Michelle came over for a girl's game night. Justin went to his buddy's birthday party so us girls had the house to ourselves.
Sunday is when Kate really started feeling bad. Papa commented she felt hot that morning, but I didn't think anything about it. We went to lunch with the Reavis and Goram families at Red Elephant (can't get enough of that place!) and when we got home, that's when I realized Kate was running a 103.1 fever. Poor baby.
I stayed home with Kate that night and was debating on what to do - take her to Urgent Care or just wait until the morning.
I told her God would send me a sign and a couple minutes later, she threw up on me - so there was my sign. But, this is really the first time Kate has been sick so Justin and I have been very blessed. Side note - apparently it's normal for little ones to run higher fevers. If the fever gets to 103.5 or higher and does not respond to medicine, that's when it's urgent and the child needs to be seen immediately. Thankfully Kate's fever always responded to the combination of Tylenol and Motrin we gave her around the clock.
So far she has been fever free since last night so I'm hoping it will stay that way she we can all get back to our normal routines. I know Kate misses her friends at daycare. The one good thing about this is that I have been able to catch up on the blog!
