Spring Break 2018

We had a low key spring break this year but we still had a great time!  It was SO nice to have the whole week off with the kids.  The first weekend of spring break, we took the kids to the Jacksonville Zoo for a quick trip.  We left early that Saturday morning and arrived at the zoo 30 minutes before it opened.

We paid for two tickets to let the kids feed the giraffes while we were there.  They were hungry!

I thought Mason would hesitate once it was his turn, but he walked right up and feed that giraffe!

It was a gorgeous day at the zoo!

We walked around the zoo and took the train towards the end of the day.  We ended up riding it all around the park - which was a nice break from walking.  Once we got off the train, we decided we couldn't leave without buying tickets to see the special dinosaur exhibit.

After the zoo, we checked into our hotel and then went to dinner at one of our favorite places - Bahama Breeze.  On Sunday, we spent most of the day shopping before heading back home that evening.

The kids and I spend the next several days in town.  We went to Sky Zone one morning and ran errands another day.  We were also able to meet daddy for lunch a couple days!  On Friday, we had plans to take the boat out for the day but unfortunately the motor wasn't running properly.  Instead, we met up with the Stewarts for a fun day at the coast.  We started out the morning at the Gulf Specimen Marine lab - which was a really neat place!  None of us (Evers) had ever been there before.

I have always been scared of horseshoe crabs but we learned from our trip that they are harmless.  There was a touch tank full of them and Kate didn't hesitate to pick one up.  Not me!!

After the Marine Lab, we drove over to St. Marks where the Nina and the Santa Maria replicas were docked.

We had a fun day with Izzy and Levi!

It was a fun, but cold, spring break!
